North, F.C. København’s CS:GO wing has signed an academy team to represent the organisation.

Following the footsteps of other organisation such as Fnatic, GODSENT and  Gambit Esports, North have signed an academy team to represent the organisation. This move marks F.C. København’s second venture into securing a CS:GO roster, with the initial one demonstrating strong results the most recent of which was a top four placement at the StarLadder StarSeries i-League Season 3 LAN finals, yielding the team $25,000 in prize money.

Jacob Toft-Andersen, Chief Gaming Officer for North expressed the following in his statement:

A part of our vision for North and the future of esports, is to professionalize talent development.

It is with that purpose in mind that we have decided to create North Academy, so we are able to turn the players with the highest potential into future superstars and create results in the long run. I am extremely happy that we managed to secure a highly courted team, and I feel like we have a perfect balance of experience and raw talent. On top of that I am thrilled with the acquisition of Alexander “ave” Holdt as coach, and I am sure it is only a matter of time before North Academy is challenging for Top 5 in Denmark.

The composition of the team will see two members in Daniel “mertz” Mertz and Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, ex-Rogue representative, Nicolai “glace” Jensen, Frederik “LOMME” Nielsen a 1.6 pro and  Nicklas “gade” Gade who joins the team from relative obscurity. Finalising the team line-up as coach is Alexander “ave” Holdt, ex-member of the legendary mTw Counter-Strike 1.6 roster.

Presented below are the six members of North Academy:

Nicolai “glace” Jensen
Frederik “LOMME” Nielsen
Daniel “mertz” Mertz
Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand
Nicklas “gade” Gade

Alexander “ave” Holdt (Coach)
